ON THE DOCK IN OVERYONDER CAY

We are among the rare few yachts plugged into green energy, on a private dock, on one of the most beautiful islands in the Exuma chain. The island has plans for completion by the middle of winter 2012. A deep-water marina is ready,  capable of housing yachts of 150 feet in length with up to 12 feet of draft.  Once the dust settles this will be an exceptional island retreat, with surrounding waters the characteristic brilliant aqua that one associates with the Exumas. Tenacious impressively boasts a carbon footprint of close to zero on the dock! Carbon offset generated from a field of photovoltaic cells and 150 ft wind turbines recently installed on Over Yonder Cay, which provide the capability to run the entire island in addition to a fleet of visiting yachts.

MODERN NEW RIG AND SAILS IN APRIL 2012

Southern Spars in New Zealand are busy building a new mast, due to be fitted in the boat in April 2012. The new mast will be four tons lighter and sport a set of black 3DI North sails. Rig technology has advanced considerably in the 15 years since Tenacious was built; this package will drastically alter the performance range of the boat and push her to the edge of 21st century technology.  This is a momentous event in the life of Tenacious!
